The Danville School Room (approx. 864 sq. ft.) is the original one-room schoolhouse built in 1863 and it is the main room of the Danville Schoolhouse building. The Danville School Room has an original queen size Murphy bed and is rented together with the Danville Sweet Retreat room. As a two room suite they sleep 2-4 guests. The Danville School Room has a full kitchen with stove, pots and pans, dishes, cups, refrigerator, copper countertop, piano, chalkboard, leather sofas, private entrance and 2 covered porches.
Sweet Retreat Room is a small downstairs room that has approximately 300 sq. ft. in the Danville Schoolhouse building. It is the second room in the Danville Schoolhouse Suite, has a king bed and private bath with a handicapped shower with fold down seat. Two sides of the original Danville Schoolhouse building porches have been closed-in to add bedrooms. This newly built bedroom has a writing desk and Saltillo tile.
The building was purchased at auction in 1990 by Margaret Waldrip and moved to our property from 12 miles south of New Braunfels. The Danville School Room retains the beautiful original wood ceiling, walls, and floor. Ask about the before and after pictures! In addition to the restored history of the original Comal County Texas schoolhouse, the kitchen features a restored clear glass window over the sink and copper countertop, and 2 beautifully restored oval glass front doors.
Danville School Room Suite's nightly room rate for 2 people is $350.00 or for 4 people is $370.00 plus tax. Maximum of 4 people. Our large hot breakfast brunch is included in these rates and is served at 9 AM. These two rooms are NO Smoking, No Candles and No pets.
