Katherine's Attic Room is a very large upstairs bed and breakfast room in the Historic Kuebler Waldrip Haus building that perfect for 2 and sleeps up to 5 guests. This room is also a popular room and an interesting German history. The beds include 2 king beds, 1 twin bed, and a large dressing area with a long marble countertop and lavatory. Enjoy relaxing in the bath with a maroon and white marble Jacuzzi and shower with a lavatory. Many of our guests choose this room just for 2. If you have a small group or a family, this bed and breakfast room is perfect for 3, 4 or 5 guests. The Katherine's Attic room has a shared porch and a shared counter area (with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot) with the Room with a View (right across the hall).
This room is constructed of the original wooden cedar beams and the original wooden pegs dating back to 1847. New Braunfels Texas was founded by German settlers in 1845, and the original family were the Katherine and Andreas Pape of Hanover, Germany. Rough cut cypress wood (that still has the bark on it) from the Guadalupe river cross the beams and line the ceiling. The shutters on the 4 windows can be opened to let in natural Texas sunlight to reveal the limestone rock walls, the cedar hand hewed beams and the Texas A&M maroon carpet. Close the shutters to create a nice dark and quiet atmosphere for a great nights sleep - "Deep in the heart of Texas".
Katherine's Attic Room nightly room rate for 2 people is $215.00 plus tax. If adding guests, add $30 per adult (ages 21 and older) and $20 per child (ages 3-20). Maximum of 5 (or 6 with a crib). Our large hot breakfast brunch is included in these rates and is served at 9 AM. This room is NO Smoking, No Candles and No pets.
All Guests enjoy our common room with complimentary drinks, snacks, free WIFI and ice cream.
